Kidswear Designer
Location - Gloucestershire
Salary - 25,000 - 30,000

Kidswear Designer required for an exciting, fast paced company based in Gloucestershire.

The successful Kid swear Designer will have the following responsibilities: customer and brand awareness - identification of the brands core customers, market position and key competitors; Product Development - develop brand handwriting, identification of key fabrics - colours, shapes and key trends, collate colour palettes fabric and trim direction to send through to manufacturing partners, produce innovative collections, produce highly detailed technical design drawings, work with international hubs and manufactures, manage the creation of prints and artwork, interpret trends in the market place; Product Management - ensure the timely production of all design packs to ensure products are delivered on time, manage sample hit rate, develop supplier relationships; Quality and Fit - understanding of blocks and measurements for designs, work with pattern cutter to create new directional styles; Stores and Sales - communicate with buying and merchandising team to identify strong selling lines and weak selling lines, discuss previous seasons trades; Coaching and Developing.

Essential skills: strong eye for detail; good understanding of commercial cutting; strong technical drawing skills; can demonstrate a passion for fashion, knowledge of designers and flair for developing products; ability to identify key trends, shapes, colours and looks, fabric knowledge; self motivation; team player and good leadership skills; strong communication skills; can deliver to tight deadlines in a demanding environment; a minimum of 4 years experience in a Kidswear design role.
